Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Privacy Location ("the App", "we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the App. Privacy Location is a mock-location utility: its core function — writing coordinates that you choose into Android's location provider — runs entirely on your device.
1. Information We Collect
We designed the App to collect as little information as possible.
1.1 Data stored only on your device (never transmitted)
- Coordinates you enter or select on the map
- Your saved favorite locations (up to 5)
- Your language preference
- A local cache of your purchase status, so the App keeps working offline
Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all of the above.
1.2 Data transmitted to our server
The App communicates with our backend service at loc.luojianyu.top, always over HTTPS:
- Device identifier (Android ID) — used solely to (a) manage your 5-day free trial and (b) keep your license bound to your device so that it can be restored after a reinstall. The Android ID is never linked to your name, email address, phone number, or any other information that identifies you personally.
- Feedback you submit — when you voluntarily send feedback through the App, we receive the contact details you choose to provide (optional), your message, your app version, and your device identifier.
- Map page requests — when you open the optional map picker, the App loads the map page from our server. Like any web request, this is recorded in our server logs for security and operational purposes, including any starting coordinates used to center the map. These requests carry no device identifier and are not linked to you.
We never transmit your real GPS location, saved locations, contacts, photos, or usage analytics to our server.
1.3 Purchases
On Google Play, the Premium license is sold as an in-app product through Google Play Billing. Google processes your payment; we never receive your payment card details or billing information. On the China website version, payments are processed by Alipay, WeChat Pay, or Stripe — likewise, we never receive your full payment credentials.
2. How We Use Information
- To operate the 5-day free trial fairly across reinstalls
- To bind your license to your device and restore it after a reinstall
- To prevent a single purchase from being shared across an unlimited number of devices (fraud prevention)
- To read and respond to the feedback you send us
We do not use your data for advertising, user profiling, or tracking across apps or services. The App contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
3. Third-Party Services
- Google Play Billing: on Google Play, payment processing is handled by Google under Google's terms and privacy policy.
- OpenStreetMap (Google Play version, optional map picker): the map picker loads map tiles and place-name lookups from OpenStreetMap and its Nominatim geocoding service. While the map picker is open, these services can see your IP address and the coordinates of the map area you are viewing, which is how map tiles and place searches work. No device identifier, saved location, or other account data is sent to these services. You can avoid them entirely by entering coordinates manually instead of using the map picker. - Tencent Maps (China website version, optional map picker): likewise, while the map picker is open, Tencent's map service can see your IP address and the map area you are viewing. No device identifier, saved location, or other account data is sent to it.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. We share it only with:
- The service providers described in Section 3, to the extent necessary to operate the App; and
- Public authorities, where we are legally required to do so.
5. Data Security
All network communication between the App and our server uses HTTPS/TLS. Data stored on our server is kept on access-controlled systems.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
- Data stored on your device is deleted when you uninstall the App.
- Server-side records (device identifier, trial start date, license binding, and feedback) are retained while your license remains valid or as long as necessary to handle your feedback.
- Deletion requests: you may request deletion of your device record at any time by emailing the address in Section 10. Please note that deleting your record also removes your license binding, and the free trial will not restart.
7. Permissions
- Location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION): required by Android to write mock locations. The App does not read or store your real location.
- Foreground service: keeps protection running while you use other apps, with a persistent notification.
- System Alert Window (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): for the optional floating window.
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): to display the foreground service notification on Android 13 and later.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and is not intended for use by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
