1. Information We Collect
Privacy Location is designed with your privacy in mind. We collect minimal data:
- Location coordinates you manually enter are stored locally on your device only.
- Device identifier (Android ID) is sent to our server to anchor your free-trial period and to bind your purchase to your device. It is a non-resettable-by-app, app-scoped identifier and is never linked to your name, email, phone number, or any other personal identity.
- Subscription code and its device binding are stored on our server so that your entitlement survives a reinstall.
- Language preference is stored locally on your device.
We do not collect, transmit, or store your real GPS location, contacts, photos, personal information, or usage analytics.
2. How We Use Information
Specifically:
- Saved locations are stored in local SharedPreferences and never transmitted.
- The device identifier is used solely to enforce the 5-day free trial and to prevent a single purchase from being shared across unlimited devices (fraud prevention). It is not used for advertising, profiling, or tracking across apps.
- Data transmitted to our server is sent over HTTPS to
loc.luojianyu.topand is not shared with or sold to any third party. - No third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs are included.
3. Third-Party Map Services
The optional map picker screen loads an embedded web page that uses a third-party map service. When you open it, your IP address is visible to that service, and the coordinates of the map view you are browsing are sent to it in order to render map tiles and to look up place names. This happens only while the map picker is open.
- Google Play version: map tiles and place lookup are provided by OpenStreetMap (tile server and the Nominatim geocoding service), subject to the OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy.
- Website (China) version: map tiles and place lookup are provided by Tencent Maps, subject to Tencent's privacy policy.
No device identifier, saved location, or account information is sent to these map services. You can avoid them entirely by entering coordinates manually instead of using the map picker.
4. Permissions
The app requests the following Android permissions:
- Location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION): Required by Android to set mock locations. We do not read or store your actual location.
- Foreground Service: To keep location protection running when the app is in the background.
- System Alert Window (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): For the optional floating window overlay.
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): To show the foreground service notification on Android 13+.
5. Data Storage and Retention
App settings, saved locations, and language preference are stored locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences; uninstalling the app removes them. The device identifier and its associated trial start date and purchase record are retained on our server for as long as your licence remains valid, so that your entitlement can be restored after a reinstall. All transmissions use HTTPS.
Deletion requests: you may request deletion of your device record at any time by emailing the address in section 8. Note that deleting your record also removes the purchase binding, and the free trial will not restart.
6. Children's Privacy
This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
